Convert photos and PDFs
Open the Tools tab and tap Photos to pick several pictures at once: each one becomes a page of a single PDF, see JPG to PDF. Going the other way, Convert to JPG saves every page of a document as an image, and Convert to PPTX makes a PowerPoint file with each page as a slide.
When you share a PDF you choose the quality (Low, Medium or High), the page size (Original, A4 or Letter) and which pages to include. Every exported PDF is searchable, on the free plan.
Paper still on your desk? Scan it straight into a PDF with the camera: Document mode for single pages, Batch for a stack. Edge detection, perspective correction and auto-capture do the fiddly part, and six filters such as Magic Color and B&W clean up the result.
Get the text out (Premium)
AI-powered text recognition runs on your phone, offline. Use Extract Text to copy the words from a photo (image to text), or Convert to DOC and Convert to TXT to save the recognised text of a whole document as a Word (.docx) or TXT file. Both files carry the plain text, not the original layout, and recognition covers Latin-alphabet languages.
Sign, merge and protect
- Sign for free: draw your signature once, reuse it on any document and drag or pinch to place and resize it. See how to sign a PDF.
- Merge for free: select documents in your library and tap Merge. Reorder or delete pages, or export only the pages you pick.
- Protect (Premium): lock a PDF with a password and AES-256 encryption with Protect PDF in Tools or the password switch on the share screen.

Yes. In Doc Scanner, open Tools, tap Photos, pick one or more pictures and tap Share → PDF. The photos become pages of one PDF, on iPhone and Android.
Can Doc Scanner convert a PDF to Word?
It exports the recognised text of a document as a Word (.docx) file with Convert to DOC (Premium). The file holds plain text, not the original layout, and recognition covers Latin-alphabet languages. Imported PDFs become page images in the app, and their text is recognised again for the Word file.
Is converting to PDF free?
Yes. Doc Scanner is free to download and has a free plan for scanning, signing and exporting PDFs, and those PDFs are searchable. Premium unlocks text extraction, Word and TXT files, ID card mode, password-protected PDFs and more.
